Inside

Someone should clean up this "bloody" mess.
Described as the crown jewel of the new wave of extreme French horror films Inside (2007) is a shocking piece of cinema that has the privilege of being number 12 in the Bloody Disgusting top 20 Films of the Decade. Starring Alysson Paradis the younger sister of Vanessa , as Sarah and the perfectly cast Beatrice Dalle as The Women.

Four months after the pregnant Sarah loses her husband in a horrific car accident she feels she has nothing left, depressed and unable to show any kind of emotion her unborn baby is now due. Its late Christmas Eve and a mysterious women dressed in black from head to stiletto heel appears in the grounds of Sarah’s house and as Christmas Day looms the pregnant mother realises she has to fight to stay alive.

I wish we had a bigger sink!
The is the first film from the director’s, Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo who also wrote the story. It’s a rare horror movie that’s both original, extreme and is not about pointless violence. Our woman in black is convinced she has a legitimate motive for the carnage that she inflicts. This terrifying gem takes its references from dark French thrillers bordering on horror, specific mood music was written especially for it. With totally convincing performances from both the lead actresses this is a horror film not to be missed by fans of the genre. Happy Christmas.
